Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program 2022-2023 For Mid-Career Professionals

The Humphrey Fellowship Program is for experienced professionals interested in strengthening their leadership skills through a mutual exchange of knowledge and understanding about issues of common concern in the U.S. and Fellows’ home countries. As a non-degree program, the Fellowship offers valuable opportunities for professional development through selected university courses, attending conferences, networking, and practical work experiences. During the year, Fellows pursue both their individual program goals and work closely with their Humphrey colleagues in workshops and seminars. Unlike a typical graduate school experience, the Program encourages Fellows to travel away from their host campus to learn more about American culture and to network with their American peers. If you are interested in broadening your perspectives and becoming a global leader, the Humphrey Fellowship is for you.

The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program provides ten months of non-degree academic study and related professional experiences in the United States. Humphrey Fellows are selected based on their potential for leadership and their commitment to public service in either the public or the private sector. Aim and Benefits of HHH Fellowship

 The Fellowship provides for:

1. Payment of tuition and fees at the assigned host university;
2. Pre-academic English language training, if required;
3. A living allowance, including a one-time settling-in allowance;
4. Accident and sickness coverage;
5. A book allowance; one-time computer subsidy;
6. Air travel (international travel to and from the U.S. for the Program and domestic travel to required program events);
7. A Professional Development allowance for professional activities, such as field trips, professional visits and conferences.

Requirements for HHH Fellowship Qualification

1. Have a minimum of a four-year undergraduate degree from S.A. (BA + Honors)
2. Have a minimum of five years of full-time professional experience beyond the attainment of a first university/undergraduate degree prior to July 2019
3. University lecturers have to have management or policy responsibilities

Documents Required for Application

Applications for the Humphrey Fellowship must be filed on-line; do not send applications to the Public Affairs Section or the Embassy. The on-line application requires the following elements:

1. Curriculum Vitae detailing overall experience and qualifications;
2. Program plan providing details of what the applicants hopes to accomplish through participation in the program;
3. Personal statement;
4. Recommendations from two referees;
5. Copy of undergraduate transcript (original copies will be requested if applicants have been selected for interviews).
